Hey, all. After many years of sponging up knowledge within music, I found that a lot of people tend to recoil in sheer horror when anything theoretical is mentioned. Fear not, a lot of it is actually a lot more simple than is often presented. If like me, you find most of the texts on it to be horribly dull, dry and often read like a set of instructions from Ikea - just shoot me a question on here and I'll be happy to help.

I think a lot of guitar players fear music theory. Because the basics of guitar are so easy to learn, many people seem to hold the view that "the best players just play by feel" or some similar nonsense. The truth is that without knowing what the chord changes are and what arppegios and scales can be played over those chords, your musical invention is pretty much limited to repetitive pentatonic tedium.
Still, worked for Eric Clapton didn't it.
