Deus Ex. Intelligently written game with brilliantly executed player freedom. I really enjoyed Human Revolution once I got past the initial niggles such as constantly switching perspectives that were context dependent. Personally my all time favourite has to be Final Fantasy VII just because it was the first 'grown up' game that I played and it had such a massive world filled with so much to do at the time.

I mean the first one. Human revolution was a worthy successor, but not as well thought out as the first, imo.
Full on RPG wise I have to say KOTOR 1&2, followed by skyrim.

To echo Tony, Final Fantasy 7 always holds a special place in my heart. I completed it again around this time last year, which given I first completed it in in 1998, 15 years and still holding my attention is saying something.
Honourable mentions are Mass Effect 2 and nearly all of Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy X (if it had been more open world/less linear, I'd be torn between this and FF7), and Saints Row 3 and 4.

Favourite game of all time is Doom II without a shadow of a doubt. I NEVER get tired of that game. I need to try and speedrun Doom and Doom II at some point.
This century though, the original Modern Warfare or MW2, TES IV: Oblivion, and the new Wolfenstein.

nearly all of Mass Effect 3 Let me guess. The part that you dislike is the everything from where the war really kicks off? But mainly the none ending(s)?

Mass effect 1 to 20 minutes before the end of 3 fucking rocked.

I'm quite a weird gamer, I think. Currently I'm playing FEZ and Shovel Knight which are both incredibly awesome games. I also play some Euro Truck Simulator 2.
And a series I worship is Dynasty Warriors. Played them all from 1-7 (getting 8 soon!)
They're all up and/or close to favourite games. I can't decide on one.

Honestly everything up until the final room I loved. Well, the bit trying to avoid the lasers when I'd just had the shit kicked out of me about 15 minutes before wasn't great either. I wouldnt have even minded the ending short of "Your choices mean shit". Never mind though, the journey was fun, just a little hint of disappointment at the very end.

Could never get into Dynasty Warriors, but they're bringing out a Zelda themed one!

Tetris. Everything you want in a computer game. You can always do a little better, but never complete it. It's instantly playable and preposterously addictive.
And it's got a fucking TUNE-AND-A-HALF.

I had a brief 'shitty you only get to choose what colour ending RUINED THE WHOLE SERIES' phase. But its just not true. Everything else was still brilliant. Even the premise revealed in the ending (and in the leviathan DLC) wasn't bad. And all 3 games have some of the most epic and best written moments in any game ever. If there were a top 10 of 'epic and brilliantly written moments in games' I'd probably give 5 places of it to the mass effect series.

Yeah, I still ain't sold on the ending (as noted), but I'm not exactly saying the games are an abomination because of it. I went through the entirety of ME3 in about 2-3 days (including going to work in there somewhere). It's safe to say I enjoyed the hell out of that game.
