To christen the section, what are your gig essentials? Obviously an instrument, some kind of sound production bit (amp, amp modeller, DI, whatever), and probably a band around you, but what else will you not gig without?
Firstly, the PedalSnake. I tried using my own made ones before, but to be honest there were always issues (my not perfect soldering, huge size of cables etc). Ever since I got the PedalSnake gigging has been an absolute breeze. If it was lost/stolen, I'd replace it within a heartbeat. The fact it carries power to my POD too is just the icing on the cake. No more searching for plug sockets at the front of stage!
I also take a case with me to every gig which always has to have the following in: -
There's other bits and pieces in there, but that's what I always have to have stocked up. I rarely need all of it (spare strings, cables, toolkit and paper is once in a blue moon), however I'm never left short when I need them.
I also bought a Hercules collapsable stand that stays in the back of my car, and a 6-way extension lead just in case the place is low on sockets.

- A big LED torch
- Lots of earplugs
- Spare strings
- Lots of spare cables
- Headstock tuners - I don't use them on stage, but it means I can disappear off into a corner, tune up, and not have to spend much time when I get on stage (especially useful with trem'd guitars)
- Small toolkit (with pliers, screwdriver, and other useful bits and pieces)
- Pens and paper - Setlists, settings, writing down details, always useful
