I've spent quite a lot of time over the years wanting this pedal or that pedal... spent days/weeks/months researching and looking.... until I make the decision that I NEED this pedal and end up buying it... only to be totally dissapointed by it and sell it shortly after. Recently it was this little fella. The Mooer Pitch Box.... all I wanted was to sound like George Lynch on Mr Scary... but no.. it just didnt go how I had, probably nievely, expected it to... so back for sale days later and it was gone. For me, that was probably one of the most dissapointing buys in recent memory..

Yeah, you wouldn't have been able to get that with a fixed pitch shifter. Simply put, if you don't have the ability to choose the scale, then it won't have the ability to harmonize correctly for each scale degree.
As far as most disappointing effect ever, I think for me it's the Arion SCH-Z. On paper it should have been awesome, the soundclips were great, and the faux-Leslie thing was brilliant. However when I got it, I found that it killed almost all high end. It would only work correctly pre-amp input, but I wanted it in my effects loop.
I could never use it because of this. Annoying as hell.

For me it has to be the boss ce2. Noisy and really artificial sounding.

Does George Lynch use a pitch shifter on Mr Scary? I guess that shows how close my version of it gets The mooer shimverb is pretty meh. Admittedly I got it pretty cheap. Can't really think of much else. Unless you count every new game changer OD which turns out to be a tubescreamer. That's not really disappointing, though, at least not any more since we got used to it.

Roland GS6 processor. Worst POS ever. I was young and stupid and I fell for the flashy lights. Dreadful clean sound, useless crunch overdrive, distortions that sounded like a hacksaw running down a radiator. Worse than useless. Put me off digital stuff for years.

I sold mine to Ant, only to buy it back 9 months later. Obviously tastes may vary and it may not be to your tastes, but there has never been a piece of gear that I had to buy back in my life other than this.

^ Thanks. That sounds pretty good, but I only bought the Mooer for the bog-stanard reverb tone, not the shimmer Thinking of the Hardwire Reverb currently since the prices have dropped recently a fair bit...

Ah ok, yeah I see what you mean. That makes more sense. The shimverb was similar- the shimmer mode was pretty poor, but even the bog standard spring and room/hall modes are mediocre at best. Still, for under £30 I suppose it's hard to complain. Wouldn't be too keen to pay £50-£60 for one, though.

That's definitely what I like about the Eterna, even with the shimmer off the reverb is beautiful on it. I'm sold on Mr Black pedals completely, they're about the only one out there that if I had to have everything from one manufacturer for pedals, I wouldn't have an issue.

If Stu didn't want to buy that Eterna back, I wasn't going to sell it. I can't think I've ever played a pedal I disappointed with, as everything I've used has only got better and better the longer I've played!

To be fair, it's also more than double what the Hardwire costs.

Also the more feminine you look the better you are at playing blazing fast solos.
Spandex gets you extra points.
