Stuff which shouldn't matter but which I can't get past, either

First rehearsal with my other guitarist using the Entwistles. FUCK. I keep waxing lyrical about these things, but for gods sake, £20 is barely anything to lose on an experiment. Just try em

I will As I said, it's not the money, it's my lack of soldering ability (and not-getting-round-to-stuff-ness). If I buy them now they'll probably sit in the box for 5 years

When I get the Jackson 7 I'm gonna grab a set, and maybe see it Pete's interested in a trade for a set of Distortions, and pit them against an Evo, see which I like best. Looking forward to it though!

In Pete's RGD, they just don't compare. The EVO sounded awful through his rig and mine, the Dark Star sounds glorious.

Not all wood is made equal. You should know, yours is so insignificant. Thing you've got to think though, that RGD and EVO sounded amazing with your 5150 rig you had, but I never heard it with anything else. Plus you know what our penchant for string gauges is like...for us through Engls and the Kemper it was just terrible. It sounded like a broken D'Activator.

Thing is, I've found everything sounds surprisingly similar through a 6505/+. Much like EMG's apparently make all guitars sound the same. But yeah, all wood not being equal is probably the best way to describe it.

LOL Those liberators cost more than most of the Entwistles If I had only one guitar to do it might be worth it, but for several guitars (especially since I have most of what's needed to solder sitting right here), yeah. When I get round to it I'll take a shot at soldering, at least.

Aesthetics? What are they? THIS from YOU!?!? When it comes to guitar aesthetics, you're like a woman in B&Q paints section.
