This is the only thing currently on my shopping list. Transpose individual strings up or down two octaves independently, instant altered tunings, all the good stuff that was in the old VG units but this time it sounds good and it's cheap. Does re-amping, even lets you record individual strings into a DAW and re-guitar them.
I've already got the GK pickup so it'd be a shade under £300. If it ever gets into the shops, damn thing's always ON ORDER or NOT IN STOCK.

I'll be interested to try it out. If it could get credible sitar and organ sounds I'd be up for it

I always really want to like multi-fx and I've owned a couple of units but they never quite live up to the hype. I only use a handful of effects but sadly they're not ones that seem to shine on multi-fx. The Chorus and Delay effects aren't bad but overdrives and compressors are generally awful. Noise Gates tend to be poor too. Having said that, the other guitarist in my band seems to use them to good effect and can get some great tones out of his multi-fx.

I've personally found the Line 6 HD500 to be stellar, but I don't use it for overdrives/distortion, that's all from my amps. I instead use it for control and time/modulation based effects. The HD500 made me sell my rack that I had which had a load of cool effects in it, but they just didn't live up to what was in the HD500.
They don't work for everyone, but I've never had a rig which is so simple (one MIDI cable, and the 4-cable method for audio), I can press one button and not think, and have it sound so good.
I think the only way I could improve on the rig would be getting into things like running an AxeFX 2 in conjunction with it or something like that, at which point it becomes a very expensive (and attractive to thieves live) rig. I could also run a pedalboard, but I run so many different sounds that I'd need a fair sized board to achieve it.
Personally, I've never found Boss stuff that awe inspiring. A few of their compact pedals get some great sounds, but multi-effects they do always leave me cold.

To a degree it's the range you get that's the issue for me because although I could certainly use a couple of really good amp sims to give me tones the Blackstar doesn't do, the vast majority of my tone is perfectly suited to my existing amp. It's a similar story with effects as I don't use that many. There's a noise gate (generally awful on a multi-fx), a Wah (generally awful on a multi-fx), Compressor (generally awful on a multi-fx), Overdrive (generally awful on a multi-fx), Chorus (generally quite decent on a multi-fx) and delay (generally quite decent on a multi-fx). That's really all I ever use but based on my experience so far, only two of them are any good on multi-fx units and that makes them a rather pointless investment. Now if anyone can ever tell me of a multi-fx that will do all of that well and give me some top drawer amp sims for live playing through a valve amp then I'd be VERY tempted indeed but until that point I'll stick with traditional analog effects.

The TC electronics G major actually covers most of what you want and very well. The only things lacking are the noise gate isn't as fast at closing as dedicated pedals but it's definitely workable and obviously there are no amp sims or overdrive as it's an effects unit.

I'll tell you who's NOT getting one, me. Because I ALREADY HAVE ONE. Oh yes. And yes, it does sitars. This thing is going to replace my Line6 Pod and the old Roland guitar to MIDI box in one unit. For shits and giggles I just made it play its internal synth, COSM processed Strat pickups, trigger two external synths AND send the straight guitar signal to my amp all at once. Sounded HORRIBLE but it worked. Quick just-got-it-home-must-plug-it-in recording, sloppy playing but hey, them's the breaks. This is nothing but the GP-10, tracked five times over EZDrummer. And if anyone recognises the tune I'll be impressed. soundcloud.com/gilgafrank/gp101

Here's a low light pic that disguises the pukey yellow colour of it.
