I'll check these out later today. Hopefully some of them will have a good amount of ring to them. I'm getting very sick of splatty sounding snares.
Thanks for the freebies!

Yeah they do indeed. That's the very reason I made them initially, was just for me to use in mixes. The current Slate sound is absolutely everywhere. Metal drums sound like big fat rock drums, and it's unrealistically huge sounding, big fat puffy "woof" on everything. Nothing cuts any more, nothing has any ugliness any more.
One or two of these are quite 'metalcore' sounding, but the rest are a mix of tight and snappy, and plenty with some ping/ring decay.

Glass is my favourite. It's my band's drummer's snare. It's just a intermediate level Pearl Export, nothing special in the slightest. But he's just one of those drummers that can make any kit sound decent. Either that or he just got lucky with what he bought and it happens to sound better than every other Pearl Export I've heard hahah

That sounds like our drummer to be fair, hahah! I've been wanting to pick up a snare for ages, but the one I wanted isn't available in the UK (ddrum Detonator). That, plus having nowhere for a proper kit is a PITA, so it'd end up with a mesh head to use as a practice pad for ages.

I've just been playing about with these blending them with some of the deluxe samples in SSD4. I'm impressed Matt. This is a great contribution to the forum and you shall be hearing some results back soon I hope!
