Does anyone have any idea if anyone makes one that doesn't have those hideous fender like saddles where the height adjustment screws dig into your palm if you set it to have a respectable action?

^ How close does it need to be to a strat-style trem? Some of the Gotoh Wilkinson ones might work (don't quote me on that, though), they have 6-screw ones with different saddles, I think. But they might be a totally different size from the strat-style ones so I dunno how easy a swap they'd be.

Size and hole spacing doesn't really matter to be honest the body that i'm thinking of just has the rear + block cavity routed so I will be doing all the drilling myself. I'll check those out.

No worries. I think a bunch of the Wilkinson/Gotoh trems have been discontinued, though, so I don't know what's going on there. And the prices are way higher than they used to be, too.

And now i'm thinking about a Kahler 2300. Damn partcasters tempting me to do things.

Wilkinson. This one's on my partscaster. I'm a huge fan of Wilkinson hardware for Strats and Teles. As far as saddle screws go, your right hand won't even notice the bridge is there. Great piece of kit.

That does look really comfortable. I really detest a lot of strat bridges.

It's not just that it's comfortable, it's a really nicely made solid piece of stainless steel. The saddles don't move around, the trem block is good and heavy and I can press my hand right across it and not feel a single screw sticking up. Best Strat bridge I've found. And it looks good. And they're on ebay right now at £25, can't possibly go wrong.

They're definitely at the top of my list now. Cheers Frank.

I forgot about those cheaper non-Gotoh Wilkinsons. I tried the more strat-style one on a vintage advance ages ago and it seemed pretty decent. I'm guessing the Gotoh ones are slightly nicer, but at the same time I'm also guessing it'd be hard to go wrong for £25...
