Based on my relative experience and my humble opinion Bare Knuckle might well be the best passive pickup manufacturer out there but to me theyre certainly better than duncan or di marzio.
Despite my les paul custom costing way more than my other guitars its just better for heavy metal so im going to stick some emg's in it. In recent years ive always wanted to get the best tone possible BUT my main aim has always been cutting through a mix, clarity, low noise, tightness and consistency. EMG outright wins in this regard.
Going to stick with passives in my super strat and strat though but seeing as my les paul will be my main axe if I ever get in a band again its got to be EMG's again!

Wasn't having a pop at you, I was laughing at the EMG's generally.
I'm not a fan.

Guys, for me the EMG 81 - 60A in the neck are my favorite set. the 60A sings as a immaculate virgin in white , at midnight on top of a foggy mountain. all of this in a good way of course. It has clarity and the tone is balanced , and it is both for clean and distorted sounds. the emg 81 everyone knows. tight, aggressive and not so good for cleans. i would love to try the JH set and these 57-66, 81x from emg. ILL soon do a video showing the 81,60,85,60A in the neck. clean and distorted.

I hear that the 60 can be awesome in the bridge in the right guitar but I never get around to trying it. I agree regarding the 60A it's just the perfect neck pickup.

I ve tried the 60 and the 60A in the bridge. AWFUL. weird. fragmented. LEAKED sound. hollow.
i cant see why not many people uses the 60A in the neck.
