These kind of threads are inevitable so I will kick it off. This guitar is a partscaster made with a body from Area 51 Guitars and a custom neck from Musikraft. The neck is based around the Ibanez Wizard II The guitar now has EMG81 & 60A pickups and was swirled by Alan @ Out of this swirled who has sadly closed up shop now but you can get the remainder of his work from Area 51.

Nice guitar, Tony. The Legra Aurora Obviously. Designed by Bob Johnson of Legra and I to for extended frequency response (deeper lows, higher highs) with balance between all frequencies and ultra-clear response for often-fast detuned metal. Thats also the first ever aftermath. Its got 81/60 set in it now though.

I bet it also has no tone control now too.

But of course not.
I wish I kept the empirical scientific proof in before and after DI recordings of the tonal difference that makes. But everyones just going to have to do it themselves or take my word for it.

I only have one guitar. She be here. Thoroughly beat to shit, well-worn, battle-scarred Ibanez RGD2127z. It came in a satin black, which lasted not very long, as my sweat corrodes EVERYTHING to death. Been through some pick-up swaps, BKP Painkiller Bridge > SD Blackout set > DiMarzio Evo bridge/D'activator neck, and now it has an EMG 81-7H in the bridge. No switch as there's no neck pickup wired in for obvious reasons. Trem is blocked with a prototype stopbar design from my buddy Allen. Had this for 3 years now, and it still puts a smile on my face. It's a keeper.

I don't really have a number 1 simply as I use a couple of different tunings and require differentish sounds in both bands I'm in. However right now the one I tend to play the most is...well I feel like I'm copying Ant here. I have an RGD2127z, with a Dimarzio D'Activator in the bridge. After years of trying different pickups, it turns out I've never been happier with my main tone than with the D'Activators so may as well have them everything eh?
I don't have any decent pictures to hand of it, but just look at Ant's and think less battle worn, a passive bridge pickup and the pickup selector hasn't been removed.

It's actually between two for me, my Les Paul gets used most for band stuff at the moment but I find myself picking up my Iceman at home most of the time. I actually feel they're on par with each other in terms of playability but the Gibson seems to have more going on in terms of natural tone.

It is indeed, I think it's a testament to the quality of a lot of these MiK Ibanez that it manages to keep up with a Les Paul.

I only use two guitars but undoubtedly my number 1 is my beloved Gibson Les Paul Studio. I just love everything about it and use it whenever possible. Actually, the more I've used it, the more I find I love it
