This, depressingly enough, is the most recent thing I actually recorded myself (as in with me playing).
https%3A//soundcloud.com/mdv/mesa-rectocab-vs-boger-ubercab
It starts with the recto cab, ends with the ubercab. The drums are just S2 stock kit, nearly untreated, the bass is my legra, somewhat EQd and compressed, and the guitars are the legra aurora raw.
First attempt at micing the rectocab. I didn't try to refine the mic placement or amp settings; once one of them was basically good enough to listen to I tried to match the mic placement on the other cab for a fair comparison. What I'm saying is both could be better, but I was looking to capture the differences, not each at their best.

In this context I prefer the ubercab, but that's just from one clip. I bet in others it'd be the other way round.

Eeeeeenteresting. What do you like more about it?
I prefer the recto, even here, but the greater amount of high frequency content in the uber is bringing out a bit more detail in the riff that I like, though. Theres a bit that is
A# -5-5-5/4-0 F - 3-3-3/2-0 A# -3-3-3/2-0
And you can't really hear the 5540 part, it just sounds of the 3320 part. I like that the bogner brings that out. But I'm sure thats just me not being used to micing the recto (miced the bogner first, matched with the recto, and the recto is much smoother near the centre of the mesa V30s).
