Something simple.
White Alder body Matte black pickguard single humbucker unfinished maple neck probably some kind of kahler.

I have one "true" Fender partscaster, Aquamarine metallic body from a US Deluxe, maple fingerboard neck from a US Standard, CS54 pickups, really nice Strat all round. Every man should build a partscaster at least once in his life, it's number one on the guitarist's bucket list.

I'd skip the scratchplate, but then again maybe that's a sneaky backup plan just in case you decide you want more than one pickup down the road...

The scratch plate is actually purely because I find solid single colour strats very boring. The scratch plate breaks that up a bit adding in some contrast.

I've got an Jackson Adrian Smith SDX on loan at the minute, and the black on white looks badass. Just needs white pickups.

I like both scrachplates and no scratchplates, but I think I'd prefer none with a single bridge pickup for some reason. Obviously it's your guitar and you should get it in whatever colour you like
