The first one that I owned was a Marshall TSL601.
It was a pretty big dissapointment. Sure it did a fair amount of sounds but the problem was the fact it did them all incredibly poorly.
I ended up tweaking it a bit and made it bearable but it didn't last too long. Here is a clip of it just before I got shut and built a SLO.

Mine depends, a lot of people don't class the HT-5 as a 'true' valve amp, so, short of that a Blackstar Series One 100. It's looooooooooong gone.

Marshall DSL401. It was a decent enough amp but the delay switching channels was a real pain and it didn't take a boost for solos very well. I still find the Marshall tone highly desirable but if I was to go for another Marshall, it would be the JVM.

Engl Thunder 50. I idolised Alexi Laiho at the time and saw he was an Engl endorser (little did I know that it was an Engl power amp with a Lee Jackson GP1000 preamp). Loved that thing, but eventually realised it didn't have the headroom to keep up with some of the stuff I wanted to do. I'm very much a "cleans are meant to be clean" guy, so headroom is a big thing for me.
Technically I've only ever owned two main live rigs (Engl Thunder 50, Engl Invader), I've just dicked about with loads of second rigs over the years.

I picked up a late 80s Marshall JCM800 2210 100w head for £220 when I was 15 years old, pretty decent 1st valve amp

Think mine was a JCM900 high gain dual reverb. Also LOOONG gone. A 2210 for £220 would be a SCORE now! I like those amps.

I find the trick with those and the 2205 is to forget the clean channel, crank up the OD channel volume to nearly maximum and forget it, and use the amps gain and master volume for overall drive & loudness like you would in any other amp. Sounds better than trying to keep the clean and OD at the same level.

I've got some recording coming up with 1 of my bands so I might double track with the Marshall and see how I get on.

Peavey Classic 60 rack power amp, Profex and a Rockmaster preamp. If racks count?!?
Followed by a JMP1 and 9100 rig and a Musicman RP60 hybrid combo because the rack was too heavy to cart around on the bus!

But I can't believe anyone ever having the will to lug one around on a bus. That was some serious dedication.

I had a load of solid state fender combos before upgrading to a hiwatt lead 100 and I discovered power amp saturation.
I swear that amp must have been modded due to the effects loop being removed and there being a lot of gain...
That amp was awesome though. I wish I still had it.
At the time I didn't really know too much about how amps worked, but I wish I had looked inside as I doubt it was stock...
After that it was 5150s and Engls and then custom built amps.

I lived at Bretton Hall and it took two bus trips, then we split a taxi to get home!
